Why did you apply?

I applied for the ABC O&P Scholarship to support my educational goals, alleviate financial burdens, and allow me to focus on achieving academic excellence while contributing positively to my community throughout the course of school and residency.

How did the funding help you meet your goals?

This award was utilized in order to allow me to continue and complete my Master’s program, and allowed me to focus on reaching my goals with more financial freedom.

How did the funding impact your career?

The award provided critical financial support that allowed me to focus on my studies and pursue opportunities that enhanced my skills and experience. It gave me the confidence and resources to explore career pathways more effectively, accelerating my professional growth and long-term success. I also utilized part of this funding to assist with conference attendance, volunteer events, and other experiences which would have not been possible without this financial assistance.

What did the funding mean to you personally?

Receiving this award was a profound honor and a source of immense motivation. It validated my efforts and dreams, reminding me that my hard work is recognized and supported. Personally, it eased financial stress, allowing me to focus on my goals and inspiring me to give back to others in the future. It also demonstrated support by the community for the field of O&P, and was encouraging to see that organizations value this level of education to the point of establishing scholarship opportunities. As a field which requires significant financial investment to complete graduate school programming, funding like scholarships have historically been very limited. It is encouraging for our industry to see these changes being established.
