About Us

The O&P Foundation is the only national 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to funding OP&P education, research, and professional training.

The O&P Foundation was formed in 2022 when the Orthotic and Prosthetic Education and Research Foundation (OPERF) merged with the Center for Orthotic and Prosthetic Learning and Outcomes/Evidence-Based Practice (COPL). The OPERF and COPL Boards of Directors envisioned that a unified foundation would consolidate resources, reduce redundancies, increase funding opportunities, and advance the field of orthotics, prosthetics, and pedorthics.

The organization was established to serve as a catalyst for sustainable progress in the OP&P profession by identifying needs, planting seeds of change, and enabling impactful programs that support the long-term growth, effectiveness, and relevance of orthotic, prosthetic and pedorthic care delivery.
