ABC Resident Travel Award

The O&P Foundation's Resident Travel Award Program is generously supported by the American Board of Certification for Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics (ABC). The award supports prosthetics and orthotics residents' travel to the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP) Annual Meeting and Scientific Symposium so that they may present results of their National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) Directed Study. The ABC Resident Travel Awards include a $2,500* cash award that should be used to support the recipient's travel to and attendance at the AAOP Annual Meeting and Scientific Symposium. One award may be given annually.

*This award is considered taxable income, recipients will receive a 1099 IRS Form for the award tax year


Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for an ABC Resident Travel Award, applicants must be be currently involved in or have completed an NCOPE accredited residency within the last three years (you do not have to be a resident at the time of your presentation). Applicants' abstracts will be reviewed by a committee of scientific and clinical experts and will be evaluated for scientific merit and relevance to the O&P field. Prior ABC Resident Travel Award recipients may not apply for a second award.
