ABC Resident Travel Award
The O&P Foundation's Resident Travel Award Program is generously supported by the American Board of Certification for Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics (ABC). The award supports prosthetics and orthotics residents' travel to the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP) Annual Meeting and Scientific Symposium so that they may present results of their National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) Directed Study. The ABC Resident Travel Awards include a $2,500* cash award that should be used to support the recipient's travel to and attendance at the AAOP Annual Meeting and Scientific Symposium. One award may be given annually.
*This award is considered taxable income, recipients will receive a 1099 IRS Form for the award tax year
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for an ABC Resident Travel Award, applicants must be be currently involved in or have completed an NCOPE accredited residency within the last three years (you do not have to be a resident at the time of your presentation). Applicants' abstracts will be reviewed by a committee of scientific and clinical experts and will be evaluated for scientific merit and relevance to the O&P field. Prior ABC Resident Travel Award recipients may not apply for a second award.
How to Apply
Prepare an abstract describing the results of your NCOPE Residency Directed Study
Abstracts should be developed an formatted using the template provided by the Academy in its annual call for presentations.
Submit your abstract using the procedures specified by the Academy in its annual call for presentations (the abstract must be submitted by the deadline noted in the Academy's call for presentations).
During the submission process, indicate where noted that you would like the abstract to be considered for the ABC Resident Travel Award.

Applicants are responsible for ensuring all materials are received by The O&P Foundation by the due dates posted by the Academy.
