Why did you apply?

I applied for the Mentored Pilot Research Grant to support my dissertation research, which focused on investigating the social needs and experiences of patients. As an independent research project, funding was essential to successfully carry out the study, and the Mentored Pilot Research Grant provided the ideal support for this work.

How did the funding help you meet your goals?

I used the Mentored Pilot Research Grant funds to compensate participants for the time they devoted to completing qualitative interviews for my research, as well as to support the purchase of research software.

How did the funding impact your career?

The Mentored Pilot Research Grant was instrumental in the completion of my dissertation research. Without this funding, I would not have been able to adequately compensate research participants for their time and contributions, which may have limited my ability to complete the study.

What did the funding mean to you personally?

Receiving the Mentored Pilot Research Grant was highly encouraging in my academic journey, as it affirmed that the O&P Foundation believed in the importance of my research goals. The support provided through this funding empowered me to successfully complete my dissertation research. I am grateful!
