Certified Prosthetist-Orthotist and fellow of the American Academy of Prosthetics and Orthotics, currently serving as Advanced Research Prosthetist-Orthotist and Clinical Motion Analysis Lab Supervisor at RECOVER. With a biomedical engineering degree from Georgia Tech and a master’s in Prosthetics and Orthotics from California State University, Dominguez Hills, Juan brings more than a decade of clinical experience, years as a technician, and a strong research background. He has also led a non-profit (Team Lawall) serving persons with disabilities for over five years helping them to get active. Juan specializes in helping patients who believe they may never walk again, devoting his expertise to challenging, complex cases, and supporting those with low motivation to achieve their mobility goals. As a researcher, he is committed to developing cost-effective, functional devices and advancing the prosthetics and orthotics field, so more clinicians can restore mobility and independence for people with limb loss and disability.
