
Goeran Fiedler
Background
Goeran is a credentialed Prosthetist & Orthotist with 12 years of clinical work experience and holding graduate degrees in Clinical Engineering/Biomechanics as well as Health Sciences. Currently serving as Associate Professor in the University of Pittsburg MSPO program. His research interests include improving the quality and quantity of prosthetic & orthotic device utilization.
Why did you apply?

How did you use the funding to meet your goals?
Across my different awards, the funding has generally been used to obtain equipment/testing lab time, reimburse participants, and pay graduate research assistants.
How did the funding impact your career trajectory?
These awards have helped with getting several early-stage research lines off the ground, some of which have yielded impactful publications and inspiration for future work. They have also helped my teaching/mentoring career by supporting graduate researchers under my supervision.
What did the funding mean to you personally?
I consider it a proud achievement to have received these awards. It has given me the opportunity to contribute to and become established in the field of O&P research that is very important to me.
